Recruitment
of Officials
Recruitment of officials is an ongoing concern in all areas of Canada.
In recent years there has been a substantial increase in the number of
tackle football players, particularly at the younger age levels. As a
result, many officiating organizations are in need of a corresponding
increase in their compliment of officials in order to service the increased
number of games being played. The following resources are provided to
assist local organizations in their recruitment efforts.

During its 2007 conference on officiating, held in Winnipeg at the beginning of May, the following action plan was created.

- CFL Conference on Recruitment and Retention of Officials
In May 2004, the CFL hosted a national conference to discuss
issues surrounding the recruitment and retention of officials. A report
on this event details the discussions and provides potential recruitment
techniques which associations may wish to undertake.
