CFL Officiating

The Canadian Football League employs their own professional officials to work on-field at all CFL games across Canada. Being a professional league and the pinnacle of football in Canada, the CFL is certainly not a training ground for novice officials. The league recruits its "new" officials from the base of experienced amateur officials who work and train through regional football officiating organizations.

While there is certainly no guarantee that an individual amateur official will ever be recruited by the CFL to officiate professionally, those recruited in the past have enjoyed considerable success at the senior amateur levels of football prior to their work in the CFL.
